Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using ethiofundraising ("the Platform"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and all applicable laws and regulations. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, you may not use our services.

Platform

Campaign Creator
Registered users who create fundraising campaigns
Donor
Registered users or guests who contribute to campaigns
Guest Donor
Unregistered users making contributions
Campaign
A fundraising project created on the Platform
Funds
Money raised through the Platform

Eligibility

You must:

  • Be at least 18 years old
  • Have legal capacity to enter contracts
  • Be an Ethiopian citizen or legal resident, or meet specific campaign eligibility requirements
  • Provide accurate and complete registration information

Account Registration

  • You must create an account to create campaigns or make regular donations
  • You are responsible for maintaining account security
  • You must immediately notify us of any unauthorized access
  • We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts for violations

Campaign Creation Rules

Campaign Creators agree to:

  • Create campaigns for legitimate, legal purposes only
  • Provide accurate, truthful information
  • Use funds solely for stated campaign purposes
  • Comply with all applicable Ethiopian laws

Do Not Create Campaigns For:

  • Illegal activities
  • Personal enrichment without clear purpose
  • Gambling or speculative investments
  • Political campaigns without proper authorization
  • Hate speech or discriminatory activities

Donor Responsibilities

Donors agree to:

  • Make donations voluntarily
  • Understand donations are generally non-refundable
  • Not claim ownership over funded projects
  • Accept that campaigns may not reach their goals
  • Verify campaign authenticity before donating

Guest Donations

  • Guest donations are permitted with limited information
  • Guest donors receive transaction confirmation
  • Guest donors do not have access to full platform features
  • Guest information is protected per Privacy Policy

Fees and Payments

Platform Fee: 1.5% of funds raised

All fees are displayed transparently before donation. Fees are deducted before funds are transferred to Campaign Creators. Payment processing fees vary by payment method.

Fund Disbursement

  • Funds are held in escrow until campaign completion
  • Disbursement occurs within 7-14 business days after campaign ends
  • Campaign Creators must provide valid bank account details
  • We may require documentation of fund usage
  • We reserve the right to withhold funds for suspicious activity

Prohibited Activities

You May Not:

  • Create fraudulent campaigns
  • Misrepresent campaign purposes
  • Harass other users
  • Violate intellectual property rights
  • Use automated systems to access the Platform
  • Attempt to circumvent Platform security
  • Violate Ethiopian financial regulations

Intellectual Property

  • Platform content is owned by ethiofundraising
  • Campaign content remains property of Campaign Creators
  • By posting content, you grant us license to display it
  • You retain ownership of your campaign materials

Liability Limitations

Important Limitations

  • We are not responsible for campaign outcomes
  • We do not guarantee campaign success
  • We are not liable for user disputes
  • Maximum liability is limited to fees paid in last 6 months
  • We are not responsible for third-party payment processor issues

Dispute Resolution

  • Disputes should first be addressed through Platform mediation
  • Unresolved disputes will be settled in Ethiopian courts
  • Arbitration is preferred before litigation
  • Disputes governed by Ethiopian law

Platform Modifications

  • We may modify the Platform at any time
  • We may update these Terms with notice
  • Continued use constitutes acceptance of changes
  • We may suspend service for maintenance or upgrades

Termination

We may terminate accounts for:

  • Terms violations
  • Fraudulent activity
  • Illegal behavior
  • Platform abuse
  • Inactivity for 12+ months

Force Majeure

We are not liable for delays or failures due to:

  • Government actions
  • Internet failures
  • Natural disasters
  • War or civil unrest
  • Other circumstances beyond our control
